I have finally escaped the 9-5 city grind and hopefully with more time on my hands I will be able to increase my win rate and volume. Leaving work in the City to play this crazy game was a relatively easy decision. After returning from living the high life in San Remo and Monte Carlo, it was very difficult to go back to living a structured and regimented lifestyle. Here is a recent article from the Mirror about my move to the Pro game: Meeting some of the sick online 20-something year olds with million dollar bankrolls made me start to question "What's the difference between them and me?" We are all playing the same game, we both start with 2 random cards, so why are they so much richer than me? After doing some research it was clear to see that there was 1 fact staring me in the face. That is the little matter of these kids having played about 900,000 more hands than I have! Moreover, they have managed to clock so many hands in a tiny timeframe by multi-tabling like degenerate animals! So, in order to catch up and overtake these kids it's clear to see I will need to drastically increase my volume both live and online, which definitely is not be possible with a full time job and an active social life! Although achieving a decent live result has managed to elude me thus far in 2009, I have been able to take my online game to the next level and as a result have earned in excess of $200k online! Hopefully that will all turn around and I will pick up a decent cash at this years WSOP! I plan on going out to Vegas this year for 6 weeks and play as many events under $5k as possible as well as playing some cash games. I will publish a full schedule of events I plan to play in my next update. My plan for this week is to take out £5k and play as much live cash as possible. I have not played live at all since getting back from Monte Carlo so would be good to get back into the swing of things and build up a decent roll for Vegas. My plan is to spin it up to a decent enough amount to just convert directly to dollars and use for the 6 weeks. £20k would be enough to cover the trip with the rate @ $1.6:£1 but would have to do a bit more planning to get more exact figures. Anyways, I don't want to make my first entry to long so will cut it here. I would like to say thanks to Joe and the SoftForge team for working tirelessly to get the site up and running so quickly. Thanks for reading, will update soon. |
